You are about to leave for another culture (you may specify the one you are going to or would like to go to) for a stay of at least 6 months.
What do you think that you’ll need to take and why?
What do you think will sustain you while you are there – here you may think of favorite books or other items as well as certain psychological capacities.
Do you think that the things that you like will be translatable or understandable in this new culture?

Personally I think I would talk a camera because of the fact that I am a photography major, something to write with and on to keep note and maybe a book about hat was said about the culture before so I can compare my notes.
I would have to eat the food there and and not carry two many things about from my own culture so I can get first hand experience of how they survive and life.
As for my camera it's a way for me to record the world in my eyes and therefore I would have a picture(s) so other people in my own culture and see and interpret on there own. At the same time it will also help my notes to see what my own culture would say about my interpretations.
If I were to venture somewhere new in order to emmerse myself in a culture, I would want it to be Mediterranean Italy. Things I would take would be my computer (in order to write my experiences), canvases and paint (to paint for the people I stay with as gifts), sketchbook, Harry Potter (because I cannot survive without the books), and my camera.
I learn and express through art, and art is a wonderful things to share.
What I want to experience is the culture and language of Italian life. I would want to stay with a family that only spoke Italian.
